Fixing errors with device settings

The Driver app provides the best experience on a phone with standard factory settings. Some advanced phone settings can impact your app’s ability to work properly.

To fix these issues:

  • Upgrade your mobile device
  • Update your Uber app
  • Turn on auto updates

Other common issues

  • Mock Location is turned on. Turn off Mock Location in your device settings or disable any Mock Location app you are using. These make it difficult to pinpoint your location and can disrupt the Uber app’s ability to work as intended.
  • Your app is not the official Driver app. Make sure your driver app is the official Uber Driver app.
  • Your device is rooted. You will need to unroot the device in order to restore standard factory settings. Most rooting tools come with instructions on how to unroot, and we recommend you follow those steps to unroot your phone.
  • Your device is jailbroken. You will need to restore the device in order to remove the jailbreak.
